These tanks however are not apart of the RSL gift. That's why they are not painted. That will most likely go for any other Leopards that get posted as holding ground on any other base. There is rumor and only rumor that the RAAC Association or the 1st Armoured Regiment Association will be given custodianship of a running example.

I had a chat to the lovely lady on the desk at Bribie RSL last night and their tank is still in the NT. She was not aware of the number they were getting and we both wondered how they intended to get it over the bridge to Bribie. It is fairly narrow and doesn't look like it would stand up to the extra load.

Does the bridge have a weight limit on it? I sure the disposal project team would have conducted recon before delivery. The Leopard is only a Medium Tank and in its deactivated state will only weight 40-42 ton with a width of 3.37m. They may have to close the bridge off to all other traffic while the float crosses.Quote:
