This is unlikely, as dont the speedos from this vintage run to 999,999.
I know my Stage 1 only went to 99,999

Just returned from viewing the vehicles. there is a lot of interest.Had a look at the 4 door 110.Pretty rough i thought for the kilometres, drivers side A pillar has been poorly repaired, looks like rust repaired with bog..passenger rear door bog peeling off.seats ripped and recovered in different shades of green. Saw other hardtops and softtops with a lot more kilometres in better original condition.I dont believe some of the kilometres shown as the hour meter readings vary so much eg, 160k with 2520 hrs. 156k with 3712 hrs.The ambo was up to 30k this morning,.Another interesting thing is that someone in Qld has the highest bid on just about the lot .What an enthusiast!!!
Overall l think the bids are getting out of hand with still 4 days to go.
How many of you are going to the Landrover festival 8-10 March 2013 at Grabine State Park.Check out website | Australian East Coast Land Rover Festival
i am waiting for the trailers and the land rovers to jump up in price.
I want the cement mixer
I reckon a lot of interest (bidding) would be from rental companies...
The auctions in the early 90's saw 5-7 grand for SIIa's :o
With the volume of Land Rovers coming through the prices are bound to be high during the first release.
Matt.
I think rental companys wouldn't be interested due to the lack of safty features ie air bags abs etc I think it would make it a pain for their insurance
They use plenty of troopys with only a drivers airbag and no ropes so these would be heaps better, less dead tourists from roll overs:)
What about driver training schools?
Bunch of ex army Landrovers that come with most of the things you'd want, don't really show damage and have already been flogged, etc.
Other than that I think the only people who'd really be interested would be collectors and enthusiasts, maybe the odd farmer looking for a paddock basher.
True, i was thinking of the back-packer scene.... and the Fraser Island mobs.
If they drive them away for 17-20k, that's a cheap unit.
Matt.
What idiot running a rental business would want a hard-to-drive, unairconditioned two-seater when they could run their business with normal four-wheel-drives? I'm mystified by all of this.
