But maybe you have deep pockets? Good luck to you...

    I did buy a 6 X 6 but then 2 problems.

First. Vic Roads did not recognize its Vin number not in system so no authority to drive unregistered vehicle. Many hours spent to try and fix this Grays were trying there best. In the end gave up an caught train to greys to see if we could solve it there. Got there about 10 to 4 spoke to them and they said I would not be happy. They were right in the time I had spoken to them and arriving the vehicle had been damaged. Someone had put a big hole in the drivers door. The option was get my money back. As they could not tell me how long to fix. The other problem was it was the brand new one in Vic absolutely as it was built. So know I wait for another one. It was the expensive one. Not sure what will happen to it now.

Boa, I would be going back to them and asking them for a $2000 discount, take it to a panel beater, get the door fixed and get them to spray it with the correct paint to match the camp. Assuming no structural damage and that it is just the door. Those vehicles were great and I am sure Grays just want the problem to go away.

It will be fixed and auctioned off again.

Just a note when dealing with Vicroads, they will have no record of the VIN. This will be confusing as they are not new (2014) cars. Just explain to the Vicroads rep it is an ex-army Landrover from the government auctions and has never been registered.
They will understand. Oh, and ring up and get your permit over the phone. It's emailed to you within the hour.
    Call 13 11 71.

I have had no troubles getting UVP's. In fact, when registering the brown Merc., Vicroads said I didn't need one but I pointed out their website said I did, so they sold me one.

Hey Boa, I sure hope you get that thing sorted! I'm sure it'll all come together soon.....

Also, does anyone know why this went for so much?

Land Rover 110 4X4 Cargo Soft Top 9/1990 Auction (0028-5009036) | GraysOnline Australia

I was just having a look through some of the old results and saw this. I looked through the sales threads for that period and didn't see anything about it.

    Cheers!
