I went into Wonnangatta Station in one in the early 70's. We must have cut a foot off 50 or more logs as most were only cut wide enough to allow a Landie or Yota through. The owner had a couple of honed out hubs to use as free wheeling hubs. I see that one has real FWHubs ??...
These are formidable performers off road. Remarkable when you consider how long ago the basic design was laid down.

I believe that Nissan also made a copy of the weapons carrier. It was part of the macarthur plan to get Japanese industry back up and running post WWII.
The FQ15 was imported by Thiess and unsuccessfully offered to the Army and the Snowy Hydro.

Ted Briggs of LROC in the 70s had a power wagon, I've got a video of it from a Wirraba Ridge trip, courtesy of Bobslandies ;)
