    I have found more information

The contract number that I quoted before is wrong, the correct number is
    6015E
Inc, if you trailer is a 1/2 Ton Workshop Trailer, Machinery then it has the same contract number.

Have a look here the descriptions of the trailers and you will get the correct contract number.
You have to scroll down a bit

they are the census codes, not the contract codes...

6015e is the basic workshop layout, there are other codes for the specially fitted out trailers for repairing weapons and vehicle servicing etc etc etc.

    Contract No: C41 547
    is what i was referencing..

as mine was built 5/66 it may have another Contract No:

    i thought...

I guess that chances are that if our trailer was built in the 11/65 and yours 6 month later and during the some financial year, it was built under the same contract as ours.

AGH.. the joys of owning something unique.I too am struggling to find the chassis number on my 4/71 wksp trailer (to compliment my 4/71 WKSP rover). Its platform no is 792 and the rovers platform no is 818.I have tried cross referencing info on REMLR and also a post on there seeking help, alas no answers as yet.On a positive note, it looks like the trailer will be completly overhauled before the rover(as I strip things back looking for this illusive number).Fortunately for me the trailer has current rego in QLD and will be changed to SA rego soon, using the platform number.

Finally (I believe)I have found my chassis number, after many hours of sanding. It was located approx 12inches from the front stand, behind the front crossmember,on the diagonal brace going to the 2nd crossmember, about 2 inches of the centre column.Chassis number is 61,stamped in approx 10mm stamp.Cross referencing this with REMLR information,I now believe that my trailers ARN is 178-025.The other reason I believe this to be correct is the close proximity of platform body number to my WKSP rover.I am prepared to be corrected should anyone have any other info or pointers.I also hope that this info will/may help others in their quest.

    173-867 by NiknoDave, on Flickr

had me in what wasn't right with it till i hooked it up to madge and saw it was sitting nearly 100mm to low

the axle and suspension had been altered.

seems someone put the axle over the springs and modified the shock absorber mounts to suit.

i spent a couple of hours this afternoon putting things right

got the axle back under the springs and the trailer riding at the correct height again after removing the altered shock absorber mounts.

now just have to fabricate shock absorber mounts close to what they were originally. but it is sitting as it should now

If you look at images of the No.5 back in the early Inter Mk1/Mk2 trials you will see the trailers axle over spring behind the Command recon.

Perhaps the change in the axle position was to compensate for the raised suspension on later LR models.

Notice the CR had the optional extra LR chaff guards over the mesh grill!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
