Perentie Bonnet Tools

Bit hard to see but they are not painted and are original wood handles with steel sections painted olive drab colour.

The T-handled shovel came from Aussie Disposals (dated '58 from memory), mattock from a trash & treasure and the axe head was given to me and I fitted a new handle.

Don't mean to be a spoilsport, but do they break pedestrian safety rules, like fishing rod holders? Wouldn't like to see you get fined by some over-zealous cop.
Also, would they be less likely to be stolen if on a roof rack? Just a thought...

I generally didn't leave the tools attached unless on a trip. The axe in particular would be good for breaking a window and stealing stuff on the inside.

IRC pedestrian safety ADRs were introduced in 1988. So they would be illegal on any vehicle newer than that.
WA authorities are making perentie owners remove the brackets before rego.

Yeah, I love the look, but I'd rather keep my tools away from prying eyes.

I've seen one up here (QLD) with an axe on the bonnet so I don't know if it is an issue here. I too don't really want to put tools on the bonnet all the time but would like to have a full set for when I go camping and then they should look the part

Just registered a perentie in SA - same restrictions here, had to remove all bonnet mountings :(

Hard to use those rules as a yard stick..

Authorities see a Perentie and an Exempt military vehicle being converted to civilian use...

So they like to make you comply with later rules...

Pretty close to an ADR solution for this issue, watch this space!
