Don't forget the pedestrian safety rules were introduced to prevent pedestrians from injuring themselves as they walked past your car. Remember, rod holders are ok as long as you twist them behind the bumper. If they were intended for protecting pedestrians as they bounced over the bonnet of your car, there would be a lot of other things that are currently legal that should be removed i.e. roof racks, roof mounted lights, awnings, sun visors, etc.
Obviously I don't have a Perentie but I assume the brackets would mount up to a Defender bonnet equally?
I'd like to put a shovel and mattock or axe on my rig for trips.
If so can the brackets be obtained (given that people are saying they have to be removed for rego in some states)
I'd be equally happy with some repro ones don't need army originals.
Just thinking out loud, looking at possibilities etc.
if I can pick up locally will be easier/ cheaper / less hassle, perhaps you could advise (or PM if you prefer) what would be the 'right' amount of money to pay for them.
The Tanami was a '95 model wasn't it?
If so, good because so is my Defender :)
Oh and I can't see any on ebay - I'm probably using the wrong search term. Any tips?
G'day Vlad. Sorry to leave you hanging there.
Got to the start of this year with too many things on the go and had to put some up on the shelf.
Maybe by christmas this year...
