    G'day Lotz-A-landies

There should be ADE ahead of the 4X4 then the chassis No 566
so just clean up ahead of the 4X4

THe weight capacities are the same as on the plates I think. I don't know what the civy equivelants are. others may. Supposedly the chassis numebr is ADE4x4, but I have seen some with just the 4x4.

    G'day Folks

The general rule of thumb is, that Military Vehicle Capacities are 1/2 of the civilian load rating I.E. Truck 2 1/2 ton military = Truck 5 ton civilian, and in multi drive types that would be 2 1/2 ton off road hence the WW11 Studibakers and GMC's were rated as 2 1/2 tonners in 6x6 over any terrain, and the C60/F60L Blitz was rated as a 3 ton vehicle but 6 ton wasn't overloading them

P.S. there should be somebody here that has the GVM of this type from the book, for Rego purposes.

    cheers

I agree, mine is just 4x4 1133, but my 6x6 has an ADE prefix.

    Thanks Guys

Given that 566 is in the last group of the first Mk3 contract and that I can't find the "ADE" I'm just going to use the 4X4 566.

Only did a little bit of work on it over the weekend. However "shonky" did have a little drive, or should I say walk, of it on Saturday.

Got to have my first on-road drive of it without several tons of water and fire-fighting equipment. Still no faster than original but the 6BB1 just lugs it's way up hills without needing gear changes.

Only drove about 5 clicks up the road and back, but Monday will see it traverse about 50K of the Putty Road down to Riverstone for replacement of the missing drop side hinges. Then another 30K to it's new home at Prestons in Western Sydney, where it will be at least 60 minutes closer than it is now.

The tuck may be old but it steers well and I'll have to get used to the air over hydraulic type brakes again. All is good. (At least on the Inter side of life - don't ask me about my two RRc this fortnight.)
