Well I guess my only claim to fame is that mine is closer to the end of the first contract that your two are close to the beginning of that contract!

Things are moving along, although it's still a bit of two steps forward one step back. This morning we moved the Mk3 from Colo Heights to Riverstone for some welding. I'm a bit concerned that I have to replace at least 1 set of wheel bearings, but it's probably best that I do the lot, given that I don't know how long since they've been changed.

By this evening all the drop-sides and tailgate now have hinges!

Although when we went to move it to it's new temporary home, it wouldn't start.

I guess that's a problem for a new battery and tomorrow morning.

Well new battery and she started first up. The good news is that the alternator seems to be charging O.K., the failed battery is what you have to expect in batteries that are more than 2 years old and have sat idle for most of their life.

The trip from Riverstone to Prestons was uneventful apart from being the only vehicle all day not to overtake anything other than the vehicles stopped at the side of the M7, or so it seemed.

It will be a very slow trip to Corowa if it goes next year because the 6BB1 is a low revving engine. Although that said, the high revs of the 292 at 80KPH + is probably also the reason for their poor fuel economy.

Now the rest of the maintenance and body workings start!

No don't know about the comms boxes, but can ask. Didn't find out about the Auction until today nor did I have a chance to look at the catalogue until after the Auction had finished.

I did hear that the trailers went for about $1.5K and a friend bought two. He's keeping the spare! (tyre)

BTW: Talking about the comms shelters, I saw a whole bunch of them out at the SME Museum on Saturday. Do you think they would sell me one! Apparently all these things in the Museum are on an audited inventory so not available for sale.

Its always the case and find out about something of interest after the event.

The boxes I'm talking abount are in front of the brown shipping container in the photo. I think they may go inside the M832 Mobiliser that I purchased from fowles Melbourne auction a few weeks ago
