    Vlad's new project

Trying to stay out of trouble I wanted a project I could sink my teeth into.

Something on which I can learn restoration and mechanicing skills, without having the worries of having a daily driver/rider out of action for an unforseen period of time.

    So I bought this:

Yeah I know I know. Not even a mother could love it, dressed like that !

I've only had it a few days but it's looking better already...

You can follow my project here (no need to register or log in):

Enjoy it Vlad, I had one many years ago, they are quite the "gentleman's tourer".
Very civilised and comfortable to ride.

As opposed to the radically modded Suzuki "waterbottle" in my sig.

    That's a waterbottle? My Gawd!

Vlad, shorty's right. It'll be fun.

The CX500 is under-rated by those who haven't had one. Er, wait. I've never owned one either — but you know what I mean.

Now I'm off to the post office to collect my GSXR 4-piston brake upgrade kit for the V-Strom.

Nice project Vlad - did you find a solution for the headlight? The headlight brackets of my Kawasaki Z650 (82) look like they would do the job - I would imagine a lot of bikes of this vintage would have similar mounting systems - maybe a visit to the local motorcycle wrecker would yield results?

    Cheers - Gav

Uhuh, Barry Sheene TR 750 spec engine in a frame made at the old Ansett workshops at Alice Airport.

Great fun, when it all went right, Oh Lord have Mercy when it didn't.
