The general idea is not to drop them Arthur. :D
I came off at 100 kph a few years back, after a dog took the front wheel out. Bike went down, I came off, bike stood up and carried on for 800 metres before hitting the armco and end for ending into a (dry fortunately) creek. My mates went and retrieved it in the daylight, took some finding apparently and it only suffered minor damage to the luggage rack.
Gotta love the mobile lounge suite, although i'm not ready for one just yet.
