A good customer of mine loves those engines.

He offered me one of his 1HD engines the other day when i told him I was after a 4BD1T.

He has a damned high regard for the 4BD1 too, told me not to bother with a SITEC "try and get one of those mechanical girls"
He runs 6BD1's in two older Isuzu trucks and loves them, they've been bullet proof so far.

He's given me a contact in Sydney for a 4BD1T, might take a little while but will get what i want apparently.

He also told me another local fitted a 4BD1 to a Land Cruiser apparently, goes well too.

What's not to love?

Just out of interest can you get a six pot into a Fender engine bay? I've never had a good looksee but since a six was easy enough into LWB series surely it'd go into a fender?

I can't see why a six pot wouldn't fit, look how much space is in front of a 200Tdi.

Richard, my customer suggested shoehorning in a 6BD1.
At least it'd be smoother than a 4 :lol2:

You know you want to Rick ;). 6BD1T would be awesome. There are guys in the US who have fitted 6BTs, so it must be possible.

He paid $200 for the turbo kit, close to $600 to fit, with new gaskets, Pyro, oil etc and tuning was free, I just burned his diesel hooning around for a few days

Oh no, what have I suggested :eek:

A bloody 4BD1 is heavy enough, I'd need to pinch some springs off one of the coal carriages that go past here to support a 6.

At least it'd be a diesel that'd sound half decent :D

Just fit the dual coil 130 springs up front as well!!!

Or air springs ;)
