Drawer slides..I'm not bright enought to work this out

Actually I did suggest this to Ian as the edges (at the end) feel a little rough.

at Big jon:- no one is going to step on it to get to a roof rack because its my car and only I use it and I dont have roof racks to get up too :D thats what the tail gate s for anyway:p

I have the draws out of our Defender on my workshop bench.
It has the homemade bearing style of runners,works really well.
Could post a pick if its needed.

get your hands on a sheet of formica, glue to draw base and whatever the draw sits on. Done, no bearings no grease :D

A good article on the ORS options in the latest issue of Australian 4WD Action.

Keep an eye on ebay for some 19" computer rack slides. They usually slide longer than their length, in more than one section (to allow access to the rear of whatever is on the shelf they support). Support more than enough weight, and run on sealed bearings.

They can be hell expensive though so watch for the right price.

Built the drawers they look smick....but the C section just doesn't work...grrrrrr you really have to pull and tiggle to get the thing moving there is just to much friction. :(

Disapointed as we spent a lot of time on it getting it right.....

Might try the single roller bearing route I picked a couple up today might try it on the smaller draw see how it goes on one piece of C section. *sigh*

Without photos (very unusual for you Lou!) I don't quite understand how you're using the 'C' section and I guess it's a silly question but have you tried lubricating the slides with some powdered graphite?
