    Another Astra question

I replaced the timing belt- along with idlers, tensioner and water pump- on my wife's Astra last week as per previous thread (thanks again to the members for the useful info).
Just before I got around to doing the timing belt, the 'check-engine' light came on on the dash (engine-shaped symbol). Separate from the spanner light mentioned earlier- that was reset without drama.
Is there a way to switch off the engine warning light? 2002 Astra.
Another question whilst I'm here- where is the fuel filter located?
    Thanks again.

I bought a OPCOM interface from the UK which allows me to read fault codes and clear them. Before that I did the paper clip thing. If you do a search on the UK Vauxhall forums you will find it. By using a paper clip on two of the OBD2 terminals the check light will flash a fault code.

So far I have replaced the cam sensor, two lambda sensors, the coil pack and the crank sensor. Vaux world in the UK is the cheapest.

The fuel filter is under the car in front of the fuel tank it has push on connectors.
