    Hilux with after market turbo

What would the maximum safe boost for a 2003 Hilux 2.8l diesel?

Hi Jimbo, should be a 3litre (5L engine) in 2003?

Anyway, 9 psi is recommended as a safe level when fitting aftermarket kits and 550degrees downstream EGT. the factory 3 litre turbo engine is a totally different motor (1KZ) and can take more boost apparently, but is underdone like all toyota factory settings...

Also, in 2003 IIRC the injector pumps are all electronic, therefore you will need a piggyback chip to fuel it up accordingly. Budget another $1500 Makes fitting turbo kits to the later ones uneconomical IMO.
