worked on an old shibura lawn mower that looked similar-it had a injector pump as part of the block but otherwise is similar.
Drilling mob I was with in the early 70's had UD -Nissan 4WD truck with the 3cyl 2 stroke diesel......sounded great!
GM-Detroit Diesel had a 3 cyl. 2 stroke diesel, known as the 3-71, Regards Frank.
I'm too tired to look for you , but ferret round here HCVC Vintage Truck Forum - Index there's at least one thread about them. Heaps of knowledge and interest that you will probably enjoy too Frank.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Are you referring to a 3-53? If so, it most certainly is a Detroit diesel. DD's came in cylinder capacities of 53, 71, 92, 110, 149 cubic inches. Then there are the monsters made by GM's EMD operation used in locomotives, power stations, ships, etc.
Nissan had a V5 version of their two stroke diesel in trucks in the 1970's. It had an interesting exhaust note
