2000 Rav4 "Clunking" noise and "floaty steering
Hi all,
Wife's RAV4 has been making these "clunk" noises when going over bumps. After checking all the suspension to be tight and OK. I found that inner half shafts are loose at the point where they enter the diffs. Both front and rear have axial play, but front also have some radial. For rear I'm talking about side gear shafts since half shafts are flange mounted. Check out this video of front ones. Does this much play seem too much? Can't see radial on the video tough.

Also, steering seems bit floaty, on uneven bitumen car wants to go to one or other side and needs correction. Makes very uncomfortable feeling. I checked the steering rack movement with car stationary and steering wheel being worked quarter turn each way, video link below.

What do you all think?
Thanx!!!
