No one has a Rover 3 Litre Mk3 car workshop manual?
All I want is the journal size of the main bearings for suffix A and suffix C engines?
I can work out the rest.

I'm in a little quandary and the workshop manuals that I have are no help as they don't cover the Mk3 model.
The main bearings in a 3 litre car engine changed size at Mk2 Suffix C but I have no information subsequent to that.
The question is: Is a Mk3 Suffix A engine the same main bearing size as a Mk2 Suffix C or are they the same smaller size as a Mk2 Suffix A?
(or something different again?)

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Diana, you could be the answer to my problems but unfortunately I don't think I can help you.
I have a 1962 P5 Mk2 3Litre coupe (engine suffix B and that is all I know about it so far!)and am searching for a workshop manual (Mainly body fittings etc) and not having much luck. The PO has put all the door handles on incorrectly, I have a short in the steering wheel/horn somewhere and a couple of other small niggly problems that need rectification some time down the track.

Hi Glen
I can have a look but the manuals are out at the Chook Shed from whence I just came. Tomorrow night will be the earliest answer.
Could it be the same as on the SIIa that have a problem when the insulation wears off and intermittently makes contact with the housing earthing the horn and completing the circuit.

Workshop manual was great.
Horn Button
To remove.
1. Disconnect battery
2. Undo screws and remove
To replace
1. slide in plate carefully do up 3 screws.
2. Connect battery
(what a waste of 7 lines of text)
That's the sum total. Nothing in the faults table
The wiring schematic reveals both the horn button and the horns themselves go to ground and the horns operate via a relay. The problem may be in the relay.

Thanks for looking. Will battle onwards.
I must admit it is a lot more comfortable and sophisticated than any of my series vehicles. I am very impressed with the car in general, power steering, automatic and disc brakes and built in 1962.

But besides all that I know nothing about the engine. Sorry about that.
