Yeh. I don't know either.
Hi all,
I've had some good advice on this site in regards to my Renault, so I'll try my luck again.
The crank pulley (harmonic balancer) is u/s and needs to be replaced, but I am not sure I can simply pull the old one off and bolt the new one on.
Someone suggested to me that the timing can be thrown out by removing the pulley as there is no keyway.
It is very hard to find reliable info on this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
biggin

I replaced an air conditoning compressor. The belt was wrapped in behind the crank pulley. bit of a no thinking about it job. I did a google and it came up with lots of different pictures of lots of versions.
The pulley I replaced came from a wrecker and had Volvo on the tag and no timing marks.
Yes there are lots of versions and that's what is worrying me.
So you replace the crank pulley? Did you have to worry about timing, or did you simply unbolt the old and bolt on the new? Was it easy to get off?

try here .... aussiefrogs.com - French Car enthusiasts site for Australia Since 1999 - Citroen Peugeot Renault - aussiefrogs.com & Froggy Forum! .... in theory replacing a balancer shouldn't effect anything though.
