Revenge is a dish best served cold...
My family were/are not entirely approving of me buying and continuing to own 'Sarah'... and the feedback about her air suspension, well, not for the delicate eyes & ears here...
#1 Son's Pride & Joy is a WL Statesman (with NON-sagging headlining...) Bigg V8...and (air) Ride Levelling on the rear.... which is now exploding fuses. Nor is it working at all, now.
System is a pair of (rear) height adjustable shock-absorbers, probably like the Monroe-Wylie pump-up shocks of yesteryear... Coil springs are only meant to hold it at 'minimum height'... the rest of the effort & lift taken up by air. I have no idea if the pump is 'fixable' or not.
Should I start now with the .... "comments", or wait till he's $pent lot$ of $$$ on a new pump, - or appropriate replacement coil $pring$?
Now THAT sounds familiar to us RR owners !
James.

Yes... as he did last week... when he 'rescued' my staked tyre, after I indulged in some impromptu Trail Blazing... You know, Wet road - Drive TO the conditions, don't speed, etc etc.
Curse of the Land Rover mindset....
Pulled his pump apart. Oh my Sainted Aunt! Windings are black, - how black? - 'Blacker than Black' (TV transmission tech would understand) It has been exceedingly hot inside there. Warmer than Mr Valeo & Co ever planned.
Piston/bore is scored, some white "fluff" in there. Signs point to an acquaintance with Wet Stuff .
Indeed, given the amount of aluminium corrosion in the crankcase, this may have caused the seizure/resistance that roasted the rotor. Even inside the valve head was... 'damp'..![]()
Haven't opened the Dryer yet.
But, The Stench of Electrical Death is strong....enough to catch the back of my throat.
I doubt if this will...'polish out'.
$550 for a new (GMH-sourced) pump unit, and between $600 and $800 for a full SPRINGS and new shock-absorbers-replacement job.
Pump is mounted well up above the rear axle line, but obviously not high enough. Maybe the PO went boat-launching with it, or Very Deep Puddles...
I feel better about my Sarah's pump-box, attached to the chassis rail. When o/hauled, there was NO water damage.
