    H.S.V. W1 474KW Supercar released.

Today, the long awaited (by some of us) HSV Supercar, the "W1" was released.
With the ending of Commodore production in October this year, this will be the last "special" produced by H.S.V., and it is indeed special.
It is powered by the legendary GM LS9 engine producing an awesome 474KW & 815NM, this engine previously only having been seen in the Corvette ZR1.
I think about 300 will be produced, HSV say RRP is $170K, but that is NOT "driveaway", which IMHO will be $200K+.
    Pickles.

Why call it the W1? Does this mean there will be a W2?

Lovely car, but an indulgent waste of money, I think. How many homeless Aussies could be housed for 300 x $200,000?

Keep this sort of thing in CA please, it has nothing to do with the thread and the discussion here shouldn't go down that track.

I cannot see these being a Classic - (Classic waste of money).

The high priced HOs, Chargers E49s and Toranas are classics only because they underpinned the Muscle car era and Series Production at the time.

Maybe we should have all bought the Mitsubishi 380 as it was the last of the line there - I think not. What about the last Camry - lets get them.

    Nah - overpriced.

According to a report I was listening to today, there were over 800 orders for the 300 vehicles. You'd think being the last of its kind, they could have made 1000 of them - they'd still all have sold and they'll still end up super collectable and who knows, Holden may have actually made a quid on the way out the door off them.

    Gotta say though, VERY NICE!
