Typically on other cars they may put the oil container under, take the plug off and leave it to drain. Lets say they only let it drain for the indicated 3 minutes and put the plug back in. If they leave it on the hoist whilst doing other things on say another car or somewhere else in the workshop then the 10 minutes is easily missed. The 10 minutes includes putting the new oil in.

Well, I've done it and it still goes, so that's good. I got the old oil out and the new in within 10 mins. As soon as it started dripping, I screwed the plug back in. I figured the thimble full of oil left in it, wouldn't matter. Better to get the new stuff in and maintain the prime in the pump. Aside from the oil drain timing issue, it was all pretty straight forward. In contrast to the oil pump issue, the fuel system primes itself after the fuel filter has been changed. Key on for15 secs, then off. Key back on 15 secs, then crank and away it goes.

This is what happens if it goes wrong

Good to hear it all went well. And no added pressure from the comments.....
