What gearbox? you can mate a top loader, C4 auto or np435 gearbox to the series transfer case and you'll be sweet. If there's any kit around that uses the series gearbox, dont bother .

It would be easyer to install a rover V8

I've heard on several occasions that the 250 crossflow suffers from overheating problems in a Series conversion. Mind you that has always been word of mouth, no direct evidence.

I have a C4 to series transfer box adapter plate, its all bolted up together at the mo.....

...not sure what else you would need.

I converted a series 2 SW many years ago to a normal 250 eng. Had so much power it was not funny. I once towed a full size buick on my trailer at over 80 mph with it! On Land Rover brakes - the things you do when you are young!!

But it can and will break things:

Rear axles (rover rear diff) - fixed by a 9" diff centre and axles!
Gearbox - replaced by a marks 5 speed caball gearbox conversion (anyone got one laying around?)!
Front diff - centre replaced by a BW 8" (ratios changed to 3.89:1 to match up)!
Overheating - used a hulix radiator which kept it cool most of the time. A desert cool custom radiator would probably eliminate this issue.

Great fun, but you will need a lightright foot with std running gear.

Have a look in projects and tutorials. Wozapinin has done the conversion and I am starting the process. Tis a big job.
