Thread: Japanese 4 cyl Diesel Engines.

Hi all,

For some crazy reason I spent the afternoon thinking about repowering options for Land Rovers.

Has anyone seen a Holden Rodeo 2.8 Turbo / 3.0 Turbo fitted to a LR? A place in the UK makes kits for them. The engines would be reliatively plentiful, fairly bullet-proof, and probably a bit more refined than the 4 litre.

The same place make a kit to fit a 3.5 litre Mazda truck/bus engine. This would be interesting, similinar to the Isuzu engined army 110s in a way.

Anyway my two bobs worth

Of course engineering would be required to get it legally on the road, and that would probably mean better brakes - but good locally made disk brake conversions are also available (from Cookey )

Wouldn't be cheap to do properly, but you'd get a good vehicle.

Yes it wouldn't be a project for the faint of heart.

Brakes would certainly need to be on the agenda.

I was actually thinking it would be a good alternative to a 200tdi/300tdi.
