    Traction control on Fraser Island

We're off to Fraser Island on Saturday morning.

We'll be towing our Jayco Dove Outback with our 1995 P38 (dual fuel) HSE.

A friend is coming with his Jayco Swan Outback and 2000 P38 HSE. What a copycat!!

So the question is; to traction control or not to traction control on the endless miles of lovely sand with Pacific ocean backdrop.

If no, how to turn it off.

Pressures will adjusted according to the footprint length - 300/350 on sand.

If you are sensible and time your trip 2 hours before or after low tide, you will be driving mostly on firm wet sand which is like a highway.

Just keep the speed down and be VERY watchful for water runs across the sand as these can drop 30CM or more and I can assure you are very hard to see.
The hardest bit will be on and off the barge unless you plan to drive to Central Station with a camper trailer which I do not think is advisable.

I think you can pull the fuse for ABS which will disable TT, but I will leave it to others who know more. From what I have read on the forum it is better off for starting off on sand. I have been with a 38 on a slimy track and he just couldn't get going.

    traction control is like ABS...

you should consider it a warning system that lets you know when you are approaching the limits of the vehicle and you either need to make an adjustment to where you are driving, how you are driving or your vehicle configuration.

12 psi and a gentle right boot will see you right.
