Boy, you made it hard.
They are a doddle to remove from the P38A.
We've posted many times in which direction to hit the nut on here and on the rangerovers.net forum, e.g., http://rangerovers.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23717
I don't use any special tools. I leave the belt on, put the spanner on the nut and give it a hit with a hammer. I don't remove the radiator, either.
One can remove a fan in less than 2 minutes.
