You are mean to put an extra fuse in the fuse box under the seat (fuse11 or 15 it think, cant remeber off the top of my head). And this is for towing and tansportation. It disengages somthing in the gearbox. The faultmate would do somthing similar i would think.

Broken recovery points - me too!!
Hey Guys,
I got my car back after a quick tow from rockhampton to kingaroy, and found tonight that my left front recover point has been almost ripped from the chassis, and that is the one that i had strengthened. I remember them using it to tow the car on to the tow truck to get it to the mechanics and then i didnt see it after that. The tow truck then took it to kingaroy and i have only even looked at it tonight when i was fitting the bash plate (yay i have a prototype).
I think that they tow it up to the truck on the recovery point and then tied down the wheels and left the winch on the recovery point...uuuurggghhh...
so yeah!! totally unhappy!!!

If that has done that to your recovery point they have probably done you a favour, If it can't handle that then at best it is a tie down. At least this way no one got hurt
