Heater core temp sensor

The short circuit to ground may just mean also that the motor is stalling because the flap is jammed. doesn't necessarily mean that the motor is burned out... I got the same FM result, but when I removed the blend motor during the o-ring refurb. exercise and powered it up with a 9V battery : it worked very well... :D

It's worth checking out British Parts Range Rover ( P38A ) Parts and information - British Parts uk and Rimmer Brothers (UK) Rimmer Brothers - Triumph Car Parts, MG Rover Car Parts, and Land Rover Car Parts and Spares to see what's available...the A$ vs GBP is quite favourable at the moment ...and if you buy a few spares of the high value/low weight variety the postage costs are relatively low and you can still end up miles in front with the savings over what the local LR dealer probably charges...

I actually pulled the whole thing apart (never again) and "shaved" the flap so that it moved freely....

Well, i got onto it, no relay 10. So i take it i get onto LR spare parts and quote the TSB number for the parts be the easiest fix? Still no bloody luck on cruise...

I find with jobs like this, the more you read up on it beforehand, the better you are prepared for it.
I ordered a single blend motor from the uk today,with the strong aussie dollar, it works out to about $100 delivered, much better than the $650+ I was quoted for all three locally.
So I'll be tackling that job when it arrives.
I'll try to take some pics of the process to help future Rangie owners with this job.

No problem at all Ron, take as many as you like from Heater O-Rings where I documented the pain I went through when I replaced my heater core o-rings... dash removal due to buggered screw head :o

Most of my Rover pains and occasional triumphs are photo-journalised at the Gallery. Some of them make it to write-ups at the main http://paulp38a.com site but less so since Hard Range has taken up most of my non-"day job" hours ;)

Damn these vehicles must be able to communicate with each other... I start reading about HEVAC issues in this thread again the day before yesterday and today my 'pretty pig' throws up the çheque book symbol. Might have to get the Mrs to bring back some bits from London in the next couple of weeks.

Hey Paul, was that Andy you were alluding to? Does he have most HEVAC bits avail? Last time it threw the cheque book fault I was told that I needed a new control panel. Resetting kept it honest for 8-9 months though... wonder if the Faultmates a better investment?!?!
