Rear speakers don't work.
Hi,
The second post on this site. I am a new Range Rover owner. (1997 P38 HSE)
When I got it fuse 15 was missing and I got the error on the instrumentation cluster. When I went to replace, the fuse mount had signs of short circuiting (the plastic around the fuse location was slightly melted). I installed a new fuse and it hasn't blown, but the sound from the rear speakers only worked for a while and now it's now working again. Thing is the fuse is still ok.
Any ideas on what I should do next?
Not sure if it is related, but the rear doors don't work with the central locking either? Could this be a related issue. I thought not because they run off a different circuit.
Any assistance appreciated.
Regards,
Dean

hi Dean
have you looked at the wiring dia for fuse 15? the L/H interior light and remote operation should give an idea of how the fuse is doing. check fuse 14 as this is for the rear door central locking. it can be caused by loads of unrelated faults but a quick one is. damage to the door wiring where it goes from the B pillar to the door, (pull the rubber boot out of the B pillar to expose the block conectors and check for water and damage). if you get stuck and you're around the Syndey area give me a shout and i can drop over and have a look.
regards
Rupert
