Perhaps try cleaning the old pressure relief valve first? Dunno how, maybe some gunk stuck in it.
We sell the pressure switches but not the PRV's. Andy will be back later this week but I don't think he has any 2nd hand units.
G'day guys,
I keep getting and EAS error message coming up and when I check the problem its always that the pressure is constantly high. Is this likely to be the pressure relief valve not working properly? And if so, Paul or Andy, do you sell these things?
Thanks in advance.
Willem

1. Have you tried measuring the actual pressure in the system to determine whether or not the fault is genuine?
2. I wasn't aware that there was a pressure relief valve as such...which implies that at a certain pressure air is expelled from the system. There is a pressure switch to shut off the compressor within a specified range... My recollection is that it is a sealed unit.

cheers
The PRV is the brass fitting next to the green pressure switch.
PS is supposed to operate at approx 140-150psi, so a real high pressure fault is probably due to faulty pressure switch rather than PRV.
I can't beat their price on the PS....

Thanks, guys, for the responses.
Every time I reset the system using the EAS unlock it works fine for an hour or two and then it gives a fault again. It is always the same 'pressure continuously high' fault. This can only be one of three things:
- The computer is making a mistake - ie a computer fault
- The pressure sensor is sending a wrong signal - a sensor fault.
- The pressure relief valve is not working properly, allowing too high a pressure build up in the system - a PRV fault.
The trick is to work out which is which. I think I'll start by following Paul's advice to clean out the PRV, and work it from there.
Thanks.

G'day Paul,
Why would it be the PS? If the PRV was working surely it would vent off any excess pressure before the system faults?
Is it possible that the exhaust filter thingy is blocked?
The problem keeps coming back. I clear it with the EASunlock, but in a day or two it comes back!
<scratches head!!> <frustrration!!>

Found it! The problem was the diaphragm in the valve block. There were micro cracks in it causing slow leaks and eventually an EAS fault warning. Andy E sent me a new one and I installed it and it now operates perfectly.
So if you are having inexplicable EAS problems try changing the diaphragm. Tip: It comes as part of the EAS O ring kit that Paul supplies.
Thanks Andy and all who contributed.
