Hi All,
Greetings from Townsville. Parked the P38 up against the garage door internally to stop it blowing in during cyclone Yasi, did the trick! As if the wind wasn't bad enough, I changed the brushes in the blower motors today, and must not have aligned the drivers side properly or damaged the blades when I installed it back in the housing. Heard a clunk after about 2 mins and after removing drivers side blower, found about 5 blades missing ( think I may have damaged it slightly when installing it ). Can anyone suggest a parts place in Australia where I could get one. Also thinking about finding one the same size ( just the actual blade piece ) or slightly smaller at the wreckers from another make and installing it on the shaft, you never know your luck! Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers
Brett

Good luck getting P38 parts in Townsville mate, I've tried and never succeeded! Unless you want new, your best bet is brisbane or the Hard Range lads!
If your ever stuck and want a hand (or just want to catch up for a beer) let me know! I'm always out making the most of my P38, it'd be good to see another around the traps!

Hi Kieth,
Didn't even bother to try anywhere in Townsville as I already knew the answer! Although I have found the rubber seal place on Ingham rd is a great place for fuel injector seals or seals for the air suspension, saved about 50000% off price compared to dealer!
Going to Daintree in May and debating wether to take P38, as we will also go to Cooktown via Cape Tribulation coast road, worried we might have air suspension issues?
Was really annoyed with myself after changing those brushes in the blower only to not seat the blower back in properly, ah well. Would be great to catch up and have a chat. What does your rangie look like? Ours is a blue 4.0 with grill changed to later model, and also clear indicator lights on the front, haven't bothered with the rear ones yet, so ours is easy to spot! I have seen a gold one around, and I think a great looking green one too. Wish I knew more about them as we would've hung out for a HSE, although I am thinking about getting another one for myself (one we have is the wife's ) when the lease runs out on my hilux ( will probably take the hilux to Cooktown ).
Cheers

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Being new here on this forum, not sure if the PM's are working?, but Andrew if you have the spare blower fan it would be very much appreciated if you can post it to me, just let me know the costs to re-imburse you.
Great to also see a fellow P38 in Townsville also.
Cheers

PM's are working great! I was out 4wding when you sent it! See reply!
I can't lend a hand with parts or anything electrical (i'm a dud with a multi-meter), but I have a well stocked toolbox and plenty of spare time every second week if you need a beer and a hand!
Cheers

Where do you get the brushes for your blower
anyone know how to get the "mouse/hamster wheel" off the shaft without breaking it?

Hi Paul,
Sent you a PM, so hope you got it. Just to clarify British Off Road had a blower motor and delivered it to me whilst I was on the Sunshine coast, not actually very far from them as it turns out. Good timing for me to actually have to be on the Sunshine coast for work last week.
Was worried about airport security flying it back with me to Townsville. Lets say they were very interested ! could've been confused for something else.
Curious to see if anybody does know how to get the squirrel cage off the shaft - without damage
Mate thanks again for the offer, very much appreciated.
I am just going to look for the reciept for the brushes and where I got them from and how much. More than happy to talk anyone through how to change them, and what NOT to do when re-installing the blower!
Cheers
Brett
