    lower bumper trim

I am trying to remove the lower front bumper trims (the "chin" kind of thing that is lowest on the P38 front end).

The metal spring clips I can fight with, but can someone please tell me exactly how to pop out the plastic (2 part) clips holding it on. They are the same clip types as I see holding on the trim inside the front wheels.

    Thanks

If they're the same as the wheel arch liner clips, don't you need to unscrew the centre section first?

It is difficult to do sometimes so I usually just prise the centre screw out if it doesn't want to wind out.

Well, the glovebox clips are similar and have a philips head on them, but these ones are blind, and have no mechanism for unscrewing. I tried to squeeze the outer with pliers and I tried to push the ineer down from on top, but nothing worked. I am scared to pry/lever the inner plug out with a flathead screw driver as it feels like the head is going to just snap off the relatively soft plastic. I want to be able to reinstall the chin sometimes!

DO NOT TRY TO TURN THEM.
The inner section needs to be prised out about 1cm then the complete fixing should come off. If you try and turn the inner it will most probably snap as its design shape will not let it turn.
If you are desperate I could take a photo of a clip later today
Mine is off and will never go back whilst I own the car.

Brute force got mine out... Didn't break a single one, however I don't plan on putting mine back on either!

Try to prise them up gently with a small flat head screwdriver.

Here is the answer - for poterity.

A shot of WD40, then forget the flathead screwdriver. The downward angle of pressure with a screwdriver is all wrong, due to the levering action. Get a good set of long nose pliers and grab the flange of the inner plastic part and pull down. You can angle the downward thrust to be much more vertical and then it pops down. Once it is down 5mm, grab the body of it with the pliers and pull out the rest of the way. None broke, all came out. Done.
