Just run the windows all the way down then all the way up and they will be set.

Welcome Serbastion. It is described in the Owner's Handbook. If you were unlucky enough not to get one with your P38, you should acquire a copy of RAVE which will have the Handbook plus a bunch of other manuals that are invaluable to the new and old P38 owner.

Dave (the guy who runs AULRO) sells the RAVE manual on CD to help keep the site running. Get it from Dave's Interesting Things

In addition to what RR P38 says above, on the up stroke, hold the window button down for a second after the window has reached the top and the message display shows "Window Set". Same goes for the sun roof.

    Cheers, Paul.

Sorry to hijack this thread a bit, but I recently reset all my windows and my sun roof after messing around with the car the other day. Now I don't know if I've done it wrong, or if I just never noticed this before, but on my sun roof when it's in the closed position I can push it one way to make just the back come up, or the other way to make it go backwards, but when it goes backwards it doesn't go all the way. It stops with about 6 inches left to go and I have to repress the button to get it to move all the way back. Is this normal or did I stuff up the sun roof setting??

    Cheers,
    Keels.

Have no Idea on your Q ....

But since we are on the subject ... Have you noticed the sunroof struggling to operate? ... Most do ...

Give that Sun roof some luvin ...
Open it up all the way .... Now stand on the passenger and Drivers seat and stick your body through it
Now you can see the roof rails

Grab a vacuum cleaner / A paint brush / some soapy water n cloth

Give the guide rails a clean down and detail clean everything

    See how that goes

The sun roof works perfectly in every other respect. I did my roof lining the other week because my old one was sagging, so gave it all a good going over then as it wasn't sealing properly.

I'm not too stressed as I barely use my sun roof because of my roof top tent. It funnels ALL the air going over the roof straight down. Good for drying your hair and stuff all else

Here's another question on it though, once you've set the window or sun roof, is there a way to reset it without disconnecting the battery???

    Cheers,
    Keels.

i remember something like you describe happening to the 98 models when they were new on the pre delivery inspection. the sun roof would set normally but on opening fully backwards would stop 2inches from fully open, press the button again and it would carry on the other 2inches. we thought it was supposed to work that way and was a new idea for the new model, but i think there is a service action on it somewhere. i don`t remember what the fix was, i will dig through my notes. have you had the motor out? it may be on the wrong park position.
