    Headlights out momentarily

Just had a funny thing happen coming home from work tonight.

Was happily motoring away at 80kmh when the heqadlights and dash lights went out for less than 1 second. When they came back on I 'think' I heard a click from somewhere, (relay)?

Nothing else went off, the engine was fine, the radio still played and the centre dash didn't go out.

    Any ideas?

    solar flares?

Relay, fuse and earth seems like the logical place to start.

    Cheers, Paul.

Take a look at t both fuse boxes and check for signs of over heating.
It is unlikely to be a short circuit (or the fuse would have gone)but take a look at the cabling to the headlights and to each fuse box.
You could check the large connectors under the fuse box under the bonnet, but unless someone has been fiddling under there they are unlikely to have started to fall out they are a pretty firm fit.
As Paul says possible relay fault.
Or it might never happen again, it could just be an ECU just having a brain storm.
My wipers were setting the horn off while on intermittent mode 5 years ago (twice in one day) and it has never happened again????
