    Question P38 Body Lift?

    Hi,

Have just seen a P38 body lift avail on e-bay UK (looks like about 20 X bolts, washers and bushes) for around 50 pound and am wondering if anyone has had any experience or knowledge or opinion of this sort of thing.

I was thinking bumper mounts, brake lines, etc. would get mucked up in the fitting process...

    Dave.

plus sunroof and aircon drains, autotrans linkages, accelerator linkage, BECM wiring harness..the list is endless...but a 50mm lift would make some near-to-impossible access jobs a lot easier!!

I cant see why the aircon drain tubes, sunroof drain tubes etc etc would be an issue when none of these items are attached to the chassis. I had a 2000 mod P38a and now have a highly modified 94 mod classic (which has SRS, sunroof, auto, etc etc) with a 2.5" LRA body lift that I fitted and the only problem I could see you having is getting it engineered (if you wanted to) as your not supposed to lift the body on vehicles with SRS air bags (but if your like me it wont stop you). The only other thing you would have to sort out is the steering shaft from the fire wall to the steering box as it will need to be spaced out/extended. Go for it I say.

    Sounds like a night mare.
I cant see an awful lot to be gained by this mod.
Buy some Arnott gen 4 air bags and recalibrate your EAS ride heights this will save you a lot of grief.
If you do it make sure you put some pics up of all the mods you had to do and the end result of course
