    Rhino Racks and Foxwing Awnings!

    G'day forummers!

I've just purchased myself a third Rhino Sportz bar for the rangie, time to fit it up and now I can't bolt down my Foxwing awning as the three bars are not level with each other (the centre one seems to sit higher than the rear and the front bar while on the car).

I decided to swap the centre and front bar around to see if that would rectify this problem, but it has made no change! Anyone had this problem before? Obviously for me, the foxwing fitted no worries with two bars (and has been on the car for nearly 6 months now), it has not just been recently fitted.

    Cheers

Keithy, I have 3x HD bars on my D2 + a foxwing (mounted to the bar ends, not sitting ontop of the bars). To get clearance over the roof (I used 210 legs and reprofiled them, not the 280 legs a D2 requires) I ended up using 2x 10mm spacers per leg to get the bar/s to clear the roof. The spacers lift the HD bar up above the top of the legs .... I'm assuming that the same leg mounting would be used, but don't know if spacers will work with the sportz bars ?

Spacers are the answer (if doable)

    Thanks Kev,

I made up some 10mm spacers out of some rubber I had laying in the shed which should do the job for now!

I would have thought they'd design the racks to be relatively level as a trio! Ah well, the life and times hey!

    Cheers

Spacers avalable from Rhino and others to do the job you need ( I think ) depends on the rack. Yes should have been level

Just ordered Rhino rack for my L322

Hey Keithy can you put some photo's up of your awning erected and away when you get it all sorted please. I have been toying with the idea of moving some stuff off the Mrs car and on to the 'pretty pig' (after I get the suspension and winch jobs completed). Thanks Dave

Here's some early shots of mine ... http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...ml#post1349966

I've since shortened the bars to get the FW as close to the cab as possible, and added a Rhino alloy tray. You can clearly see the spacers in the photo's.

I bought the tray second hand. It came with 3x HD cross bars (t/s a pootrol I think). One of the bars only had spacers ... the pootrol roof gutters are lower at the front than the back, hence a 10mm spacer ... the RR is probably the similar.

There's some shots further down the post I linked showing the FW & Tent all setup.
