    EASUnlock on Windows 7

My usbconvertor has worked fine on mu old netbook running XP, but I can't get it to work on either of my laptops running Win 7. I've tried the new driver as per Paul's site but to no avail. It loads it but doesn't start it.
Any PC gurus that can help?

I had exactly the same issue which nearly drove me insane. Eventually got a slightly different type of adaptor for a couple of dollars from e-bay with instant success. I did post it here but will see if I can find a current link to the seller

    Here is my original thread..........

The original seller does not seem to have them now. Just did a search for you and found this which looks the same style and says win 7. Only a couple of $$ so worth a punt

Trev - bring your laptop(s) in to Footrot Flats one day and let me have a look, or come over to QBN one evening and we will get it sorted.

When in doubt, tell Win7 to run EAS Unlock in XP SP3 compatibility mode and as an Administrator.

I've got it running ok under Win7 using the USB-Serial Adapters we flog, and also the one Wayne suggested (had to try it out ).

Dave is right, the v1417 PL-2303 driver http://www.prolific.com.tw/support/f...ller_v1417.zip appears to be quite stable on the XP, Vista (32-bit) and Win7 (32 and 64-bit) machines I am running.

    Cheers, Paul.

Thanks for the offer Paul. I've just ordered one of Waynes. I'll see how that goes, but if it doesn't work I'll contact you.

ok... or you could just grab one off me tomorrow (buy me a coffee from Cibo ) and I will get it working. Haven't met a Windows laptop yet that I haven't been able to get working with the s/w and h/w.

I'll throw a couple of adapters in to the glove box in case you change you mind.

    Cheers, Paul.
