Always good to hear the O rings can be done without to much drama.
Ok i changed my heater core o-rings on the wekend. Changing the o-rings is the easy part gaining access to them is a different story. No need to remove whole dash . I did have to remove speedo instrument cluster , unplug the main plug before unpluging srs air bag . I have heard stories of these going of if power is still connected to instrument cluster or resulting in a srs air bag fault. The only other major surgery required was the cutting of the heater duct which runs down in front of the heater pipes i had to cut this just above the heater core so i could completely remove it and give me good access. i used duct tape to cover join when put back no problem . there is a good write up about this at rangerovers.net which i followed and added my extra bit to make it easier.

I should pull my finger out and update that page. It's been a while and there have been some additional ideas put forward. I didn't need to cut any ducts and that's why we didn't mention it in that write up.

I didn't have to cut mine either. Though would like a bit more info on replacing the drivers side Blend motor, and how to align it to fit.
Have you read this page we also wrote?

Hmmm...thought I'd add a little observation here: did the o-rings and checked out the blend motors with a 9V battery given that the 'book' icon was ever present and the Faultmate showed open circuits...
The 9v test showed the blend motors were OK...
So reassembled all, checked flaps to ensure they were not binding and book icon GONE!
Then Spring arrived... If the vehicle is started after a chilly night and the ambient temp is less than 17 deg C or there abouts, book icon stays away. ... Start vehicle on warm day ...say mid 20s.. book icon immediate.
Am wondering how to free up the flaps with out having to remove the whole kit and caboodle... . Appears the chamber may be distorting ever so slightly with the heat...
cheers
Have you seen the thread on RRNet about screwing in a self-tapping screw?

yep I did thanks Ron...and did so. Possibly need to use one of larger gauge instead. I dare not write that I need a bigger screw because that may get me into trouble...![]()
