Well, I'm really having to eat my words since stating that my car hadn't put a foot wrong in a year.....serves me right.
I've just got back from my holidays on three airbags and a fueling problem!
No issue on replacing the rear airbags, I've been needing an excuse to splurge out on Arnott Gen 3s and this is that moment.
The new issue is with the car's performance. Recently I re-built the fuel pump replacing it with a Holden equivalent and I also replaced the Crank Positioning Sensor. The car has been performing well over the last month until I got close to my holiday destination; some 200 Kms at a steady 100km/h, the car returned a good 12.3l/100km. Now the car is very slow to accelerate, has no power and misfires if pushed too hard. When the revs increase beyond 2500 rpm, suddenly the car clears and all is well. I've cleaned the MAF sensor, I'm not sure if there's a fuel filter, but I'm going to have a good hunt around for one.
The easy option would be to plug into a faultmate, but I don't have one (yet)! is there anyone close to Newport that I can borrow a faultmate to rent/trade/beer up?
(On the plus side the aircon is back working, the radio works, the fan relays have been changed and are blowing well, the O rings are in, secure and no more wet carpet, two blend motors are fixed and one more to go......)
Does this latest fueling issue sound a familiar misfire note to anyone?
