Depends on whether you have a GEMS or a THOR engine.
MAF's are different and the ECU does not require resetting.

Sorry Zhoey should have listed 1998 4.6 hse GEMS I beleve I have orderd a new one from England so will see what go's on when I get it.

GEMS is ERR5595 from memory. Yes, I think that's what you need.

Hi again well got my new MAF and has made a nice differance to power quicker of the mark But still idealing at 2100rpm drops to 1100 when in gear to high don't know what else to do we dont have a dealer ouy here.

My experience has included checking the Crank Angle Sensor. Sometimes they just loosen themselves off and become misaligned. You can pull them out and clean them up too. They are relatively easy to get at... do you have a copy of Rave?

You will get more ideas/feedback from forumites here... hang in there and keep at it.

Thanks DT I have workshop manual but not Rave I bought it before I new about Rave

I would be checking the stepper motor as well.
At high mileage they seem to fall apart inside.
