I agree with you, preventative maintenance is why I'm doing mine as well.
It's a tough call, your testimonial certainly helps.
Will advise on which way I go!
Umm... I replaced the ignition coils when I did the head gasket as a pre-emptive maintenance measure. Got them through a UK online place but only discovered late in the piece that they were a Britpart. Well what the hell, I put them in, the originals showed no signs of burning or tracking so they're in the "emergency spares" box. 10,00km so far, no hint of trouble, no evidence of voltage leakage a.k.a. "Rover aurora"in pitch black conditions... so far so good.
EDIT: externally, they appear to be virtually a clone of the originals including all the numbers etc...

Hi
The only BritPart bits I have had a problem with were a brake caliper rebuild kit and an Expansion Tank cap, which may in fact be ok.
So far my foamcell shocks are all looking fine
Thinking about it, something which is basically a coil of wire wrapped around a core is pretty unlikely to suffer from poor QA, there is not much to go wrong there except for bad insulation material which is unlikely
Steve
Good find.
Any equivalent find for alternate ignition coils for P38 GEMS engines? Perhaps from Australian vehicles - making availability easier?
Cheers,
Steve
