    Door lock switches

    Hi all,
I'm slowly working my way through all my electrical issues, with my latest problem being both rear and passenger front door switches sticky.

Are these easily removed and freed up, as usual all help appreciated.

No, they're not to difficult to pull out and free up - though a bit of patience is required.

When opening up the lock casing, just study it before you start pulling pieces apart so you know how to put it back together.

I should have taken a few photos when I did mine.

I used various things to try and loosen it all up, the best thing I found was the dry lube stuff in a stick from stupid cheap auto or the like.

Also spraying a teflon spray in all the door latch, and handle points helped a lot also.

Thanks benji, I think I fixed them by drowning the locks Maxsolve, I'll give it a couple
of days to drain then I'll hit them with dry lube as you sugested.
    Next is the sun roof.......

Just be carefull you didn't get any crud in the micro switches or the lock motor in the bottom of the casings. The switches are easy to test with a multimeter.

Appreciate that, I don't no that dirt was the problem, as inside the door panel was really clean. I'm thinking dried out lube is more on the mark as all doors are working 100% now and I've only applied dry lube to the strikers. Any way its a lot easier to try some thing like Maxsolve or WD40 which is low in lubricant and high in solvent. worst case is to pull the locks out and do it properly.
