    EAS extended mode not working?

Well I got stuck the other day didn't I, nothing that 20 minutes of digging wouldn't fix - but the eas didn't go into extended mode which would have lifted the chassis off the ground.

The right front was a couple of feet off the ground, with the front left and rear right on the bump stops, and the chassis grounded just behind the left front wheel and the trans cross member.

What i'm wondering is, is the extended mode only set when it cannot lower both wheels on one axle, or just one wheel?

My old classic would go into extended mode quickly and at the right times so I didn't pay much attention to it.

    EXTENDED

With a manual air recovery system you would be able to pump up the two airbags where the wheels were on the bumpstops which may have helped. You would need the type with 4 taps so you could turn the lot off and do it manually. Need to disconnect the pump too, I think.
Obviously you need an electric pump to pump the bags seperately.
    Cheers PS.

Thanks mate; i've got the manual overrides, but mmm, to complicated for me. If I were really stuck then I'd give it a try.

I might do some experimenting with jacks under the chassis in the backyard, stick a jack under one side, then both sides.

The manual airvalves are the best investment you'll ever make on your EAS system. It allows you to manually inflate each airbag and you can easily lift the car to the desired level.

I'm currently replacing the brake pipes and, after disabling the EAS, I can easily lift any corner to get the desired access to the hoses.
Have a look on the Rangie wiki RANGEROVERS.NET HOME under Common Issues and Repairs - it should all then make sense
