    God bless EAS

    well, another EAS thread...

Funny how you think you've got the system licked and then it throws up a new challenge

No complaints as I like my EAS and I'm working through it and upgrading/changing as I go.

Currently the system does not engage at all, I've run the EAS unlock suite and get a strange response from F9 which I believe is one of the height sensors, but I can't work out which one?

Mine is a '96 (build Nov '95) Gems car, I have read you can move the adjusters 180 degrees and stick them on the opposite side, I've also read that on some models this can't be done? What are my options in replace or rebuild the height sensors?

With the battery off, take off one of the height sensors, and see if it'll roatate 360, if so, you can swap sides. I'm not sure which ones only rotated 180.

With the ignition on, you could disconnect the height sensors one at a time, and see which number it throws up, you can just delete the fault anyway.

I too thought I had the system worked out, but it wouldn't rise to extended height the other day. If it did, I would have just driven out instead of 20min digging.

I _think_ the height sensors were updated in 97-98, and the older style could not be moved side-to-side unless they had been replaced with the newer style and an adapter cable.

F9 is just a memory position. What is the fault in the window below it?
