Ahhgh! Put a rear headrest in the wrong way round, now stuck!

Soooo, took out the rear headrests to get a bed in the back, put one of the headrests in backward and the ****ing thing is stuck! Anyone else done this had this moment of simpleness and know the best way to get it out?

Headrests out hey! I've never needed to remove them to make the most of the load space! Have never had this issue myself, but good luck mate!

Haha, I know I didn't even need to take them out, just habit when folding seats down in other cars!

Have got the same issue on one of the back seats too, so if anyone does have a solution. Am thinking of pulling the seat apart to look at it..... when I get time - yeh, that's a funny one!

Not going to be of much help but plenty of relevance, but does anyone remember the artists Kris Kross? Just this topic reminded me of how they wore their clothes backwards lol

Haha, and your posts are usually so useful pbrown

Maybe if anyone complains I'll give them option of sitting in the boot facing backwards...

Don't know if this helps, but if you own a ford territory this is the solution.

Get a small nail (or something silimar). Pull the head rest up as high as it will go (I suspect it is stuck half way.) If you get into the back of the car, looking towards the front of the car, the left post will be stuck. Have a look on the inside of the post where it enters the seat, there is a small pin hole, place the small nail in that hole and it will release the head rest.... Or if you want to leave it in, but push it all the way down, do the same thing but push it down all the way.

No, don't do anything with nails!

Mine was like this for years and I would ignore it. One day I was fixing something in the back of the car, and out of frustration I had a go at the stuck headrest.

Now the great thing was that it came out really easy without any effort, the bad thing is that I can't remember how I did it!

I've just gone out to have a look and try and jog my memory, but I'm not game enough to pit the headrest in back-to-front again to recall how I did it. I have a feeling that I either pushed the headrest spikes together or pushed on the grey plastic sleeve that the headrest spikes sit in.

It's really annoying me that I can't remember, so thanks for bringing it all back!

I bet it is more annoying for UK_P38!

In the territory there is a pin hole where you can push a paperclip in which will release the "tongue" that is holding the head rest in place. the pin hole is located around the plastic base that the head rest slides into. This information sounds like it is quiet possibly of no use what so ever in this situation. I would be interested to see if he has got in unstuck though.
