Does it come in the black, or bare stainless?
The idea of an indestructable snorkel appeals to me too.
It is 75mm id yeh?

Better, and it comes in black.

Benji,
Exactly what i was about to ask, one pic shows bare and the other black.
I am working on the assumption it's 3" given our friends across the pond still use "imperial" measurements
I think this is the best design for a P38 snorkel I have seen and with a little "aulro perfectionist dust" applied to it will be the ultimate design
One other thing I am thinking about is an option to use a Donaldson (or similar) pre-cleaner on the intake when I am out in bulldust country
Steve
I was going to go the Donaldson too. As the variable inlet pressure from a forward facing scoop will muck around with my lpg.
I just have to work out a way to attach it to my filter box as it has different internals. I havn't looked hard at it yet, but shouldn't be too hard.

Hi
The latest ones are self cleaning as well

Steve
So I have been doing a bit (quite minimal really) behind the scenes investigations into the legal aspects of the bonnet cut but didn't want to say much before I had some confidence and give false alarm. Keep in mind that there is far more cost than the defect alone here, as bonnets ain't cheap!
So going by Justin (lucky8 Justin) 3 inch cut from the top edge of the bonnet it appears that the cut shouldn't be structural.
RMS (used to be RTA in NSW) are fine with that, if it's not structural. I mentioned that the cut will be through a double skin but it is behind the mount points and they seemed OK with that.
So next step is to hopefully go to an official assessors tomorrow to get confirmation. I'm confident the cut is far enough away from the hinge to not be structural, or more the point not effect how the bonnet crumples under an accident. But I want to be certain before I go cutting the nice and expensive bonnet. Unfortunately Justin did not have any pics of the "section" where it was cut to show, which would have been nice.
I'll report back when I find out more. If they are open tomorrow I will likely go there tomorrow. Should have waited to give this post until then, but I am bored in the office![]()
