    Hard Range announcement

    Hi guys
Sadly, Andy and I no longer have the time and energy to dedicate to Hard Range so it is time to let it go.

One of two things will happen:
    • someone buys the business and builds it back to where it should be, or
    • we close it down while we are ahead and sell the remaining bits at a discount.

I have put a post over in The Verandah which explains it in more detail
    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread...69#post1859469

Just want to give you all a heads-up as it was the great support from this forum that gave us the courage to get in to Hard Range 3 years ago, and you deserve to find out from me direct rather than wondering why the hardrange.com web site and eBay store disappears one day.

    Cheers, Paul.

Thanks Paul (and Andy) for all your help over the years. Hard Range's offering and your efforts have made owning and enjoying my P38 an easier, cheaper and more sociable experience.

Agree with your comments in "The Verandah" about it being a great compliment to an existing LR business. I believe it could even become a "hero" off road brand to a shop that has an existing P38 customer base. Alternatively, some enterprising P38 guru should be able to capitalize on all the good will you have built up over the years and start another chapter in the Hard Range story.

Either way, I really hope you get a buyer for HRA as it will be sorely missed in the world of P38 ownership if it closes.
    Hoo-Roo,

    Dave.

    Sad to hear Paul...

Wish I had the coin/room/time to take it on as I feel the market would be at a loss without you guys...

Best of luck to new owners (because Rangie's don't die they just get new owners, as will HRA).

    Cheers
    Keithy's

P.S. have you got any lift kits left for a good price ;-)

It will be sad to see you guys get out of HRA. As has been mentioned earlier you have collectively allowed p38a ownership to be a far more rewarding and cheaper experience. Personally my p38 has the lift kit, EAS bypass as well as a rebuild kit for the ABS modulator to mention but a few. Your store will be sadly missed.

    Hi Paul

What a sad day it is That you guys are getting out of HRA. But as one door closes another opens. As they say. Hope someone takes HRA over and the brand continues to grow.

    Hi Paul,
Really sad to hear this, shame you guys could not keep this going as you have certainly contributed to getting more P38's out where they should be enjoyed!
I have been more than happy with everything purchased from Hard Range and your after sales assistance has been great.
Hopefully the new owner will continue to grow the P38 aftermarket range of improvements and fixes and we may see even more out there.

Take care and all the best for your future endeavours.
    Martin

ps I'm sure we'll catch up somewhere soon.

Thanks guys, I really do appreciate your kind words.

I have decided that final day of trading and offers of buy-out is Sunday 10-March-2013. This lets me finalise accounts and stock balances prior to BAS on 31-March and other ATO and ASIC compliances.

Keithy - maybe, but not all bits I am afraid. March will tell

    Heath - ditto

Sam - your bits are safe, but not complete

Dave, Martin and Gary (x2) - I hope so too. On the other hand, I'd rather go out on a high than let HRA dwindle in to insignificance and disrepute.

To quote The Kurgan from the classic 80's movie Highlander, and a line from my favourite Def Leppard song:

"It's better to burn out, than fade away"

    Cheers, Paul.

A sad day Paul. But someone may take it on.

The other side of this story is that your other side of your life is going well so onward and upward.

I also feel I must say thank you to Paul and Andy.

So much help, for so little expected in return!

Restores your faith in human nature.

I presume the main reason for this is that you are going to need much more time available to keep that 'jap junk' on the road!!!

    Thank you, Paul.

But I'll probably still call you when I need some help so you don't get drawn to the dark side!!

    Regards
    Trev
