Drivetrain slack dissapeared. Good or Bad thing?

    Good morning gents.

I dropped the old fluid out of the transfer case in her majesty, and gave her a fresh squirt of cherry juice. Old colour wasn't great, but not tragic either.
Took her out for a spin today and noticed that there is absolutely no slack in the drivetrain at all.
Before the fluid change there was a small amount of slack at low speeds when pulling the foot off the accelerator. It wasn't that bad that I couldn't work around it by being gentle with the easing off of my foot.
But now it is not there at all. In fact it feels like a new car.
My only concern is that something has tightened up in the transfer case.
It drives really well, and does not slow down too fast when rolling in neutral. Also it doesn't seem to be running too hot.

Any thoughts would be great. (I know it's not the most exciting thread.)

    Cheers, and best regards.

Id tend to think the old old oil was thin, that'd explain the noise and heat.
Very much doubt anything has tightened up in there.

As they say Johny "oils ain't oils" Maybe do em all for extra smoothness

    Cant hurt.

Too right Bruce. Took her for a run up the mountain today. Half hour straight up, low gears and plenty of corners. Felt the auto and transfer case at the top, and they were barely hot to the touch. Not a real hot day but still a good sign I'd say. Stark contrast to a couple of months ago. 1 hour out of Melbourne and the transfer case was hot hot hot. Auto was not much better. Not a real hot day either. Thought it was normal. It's a much happier rig now.
Auto trans and diffs next. The fluids look o.k. but I don't think the ol' girl was overly loved before we got her. Pretty cheap for a lot of piece of mind. And lets face it, it's half the fun of these cars. The other half is the drive of course.

    Cheers
