Talking Wing needed for snorkel template - P38

Can anybody help me source a cheap nearside (passenger) front wing for a P38? I'd like to drill holes in it etc before performing the operation for real on a live one.

I'm trying to plastic weld three different snorkels together - and want to avoid a dogs dinner. Reckon a template would help. I've checked with breakers in Australia and its probably cheaper to have one shipped from the UK - which I'm keen to avoid. Obviuously the breaker prices are based on you actually needing/wanting to fit it. I'd be happy with one that was damaged (preferably lower half).

    Regards - here's hoping.

Were you looking at running the snorkel all the way to behind the indicator? I've started on a poly styrene mould that would go from an inlet that's plastic welded to the engine side of the air box up beside eas stuff and under the cruise control and out both panels. Was going to make out of fibreglass about 90mm I.d.

Yes. I was intending to run down the outside of the wing to pick up the inlet to the OEM air box. It just looks too clustered on the inside. If I could work out a clear route via the rear section of the wing (as many seem to have) then that would naturally be preferred. Polystyrene makes a great mould - for fibreglass I assume?

This guy was wrecking one, maybe worth asking if he's still got it. Was asking quite a lot for a rear lock assembly though!

Polystyrene ive read can be disolved with petrol after the fibreglass has cured, so you can do quite complicated shapes. The challenge would be tool access to smooth it all out.
I was looking at moving the cruise control motor and cutting an almost triangular shape (works out at 110mm o.d. equivalent) below the seam of the body channel on the inner wing.

As long as its smooth on the outside, the only issue with a rough inner is friction losses reducing flow. But with a 110mm equivalent dia - I wouldn't sweat it.

Yep - a block of polystrene to make up the gap between the Hilux section running along the wind, and the Patrol GU box that will sit on the wheel arch - joined in fibreglass and filled with car body filler - sounds like a spiffing idea. Especially the petrol solution - rather than burning or digging it out!!
