    Height sensors removal

    Hi All. I know this is in Rave but my tablets gone flat and have no charger with me so no access right now.

    I've removed the rear sensor easily from the body and also the plug but do I pull the rod/barb through the rubber mount on the swing arm? Just seems hard and don't wanna damage that because I'm not sure how replaceable that rubber part is.

    Was hoping to get the sensor out today, but no charger until tomorrow.

    Alright. Remembered I uploaded Rave to my Dropbox account... But the manual just says remove it from the suspension arm. I wish it was that easy. I've pulled fairly hard on it and the barb seems to be working effectively and not coming out. Even with oil on it. I'm sure brute force will do it but I'm worried to break something else in the process. Damn that didn't help much. I didn't think it would be that hard. The first part was easy. Pushing it back in will be easy though. Just gotta get it out first

    Be careful, I broke the rubber off mine and had to replace the trailing arm. Rubber grease and a pair of multi grips pushing it through worked for me eventually!!!!

    Thanks for the advice. I had thought that much but just seemed ridiculously hard.

    Will get the best tools I can find and grease it up. Maybe even take the wheel off if it gives better access.

    Get a pair of long nose pliers, and carefully push the rod through the rubber. I broke mine also, managed to Tarzan glue it back on, hasn't Brocken since. But be careful anyhow, prevention is the cure.

    Is a replacement swing arm the only option other than mega glue? Could one get creative with a welder and make something up that'll do the job if the rubber jigga breaks?

    It's possible but as the hinge thing is all rubber, where it attaches to the swing arm remains a fairly decent base of rubber, but I,m sure you could do something if needed. I had a spare swing arm luckily.

    Did you pull the wheel off to get better access? I'm thinking I might just to extra careful

    FWIW..Welding is a no go.. the arms themselves are made of a high tech composite material with special torsional deforming characteristics. The bush housing riveted on at each end is made of aluminium... about the only way you can mechanically reattach the rubber material is to carefully cut a small slit through it..probably best done by drilling a series of 3mm holes and securing it to the control arm with a jubilee-type hose clip ... I'm not sure how you might otherwise attach the rubber to the composite material...like you said, some sort of specialised glue probably...

    Lube it up and be careful, I used vice grips also to push it through. I'm sure having the rubber warm would help it to be more maleable. Once the barb is through it's fine and getting them back in is easier
